We believe that early adolescence is a unique period of development. It is a time of transition for intellectual, educational, physical, personal and social growth. We understand that the biological events of puberty fundamentally disrupts the smooth development of the elementary years and has a profound impact on the lives of young teens..We believe that the school counselor's role in the middle school is to help reduce and ease some of these transitions so that students can learn and begin to develop a sense of self and their role in the greater community. School counselors work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and administrators to help each of their students meet their potential. -
Students who complete 25 hours or more of community service by Friday, May 9, 2025 will receive a community service award at graduation. This service must be completed for a not-for-profit agency and a supervisor from that agency must sign off on the student's hours. No parent signatures will be accepted. All hours must be completed during the student's 8th grade school year and during the summer prior to entering 8th grade.
Students must submit the Community Service Log to their counselor for review on Nov 8, Jan 11, and Mar 14 in addition to the final submission on May 9, 2025.
